Pixelate or Blur — Which Should You Choose?
Pixelation chops the selected area into large solid-color blocks. It is the more thorough option — the original content is essentially impossible to reconstruct — so it's the right choice for license plates or ID numbers that must be fully unreadable. Blur softens the details while keeping a rough outline and color tone, which looks more natural and works well for faces or background bystanders where you just want to reduce recognizability rather than destroy the content completely. The higher the intensity, the larger the pixel blocks or the stronger the blur.

Q1: Is my photo uploaded to your servers?
No. This tool is entirely client-side — drawing, pixelating and blurring all happen inside your own browser, and our servers never see the photo. That's different from many "automatic face detection" tools that quietly upload your image to the cloud to run their AI model.
Q2: Why isn't there an automatic face-detection feature?
Automatic face detection requires loading a large machine-learning model, which slows the page down and still can't guarantee 100% accuracy — profile views, masks and license plates are frequently missed entirely. Manual selection takes one extra step, but it's fully under your control with zero risk of a missed spot, and it also works on plates, document fields and other objects that face-detection models simply don't recognize.
Q3: Can I draw multiple areas on one photo?
Yes. You can draw as many boxes as you need on the same photo, each with its own independent effect and intensity, and each can be resized or deleted on its own.
Q4: Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Drawing, dragging and resizing all support touch input, so the experience on phones and tablets matches using a mouse on desktop.
Q5: Can the result be reversed back to the clear original?
